Kofi is a ceramic cocktail mug designed by Tank Standing Buffalo for Tiki Farm. Naming your newborn child after the day of the week your child was born is an traditional Ghanian custom. Kofi meaning “born on a Friday”. Accordingly, it made sense for Tiki Farm to release Kofi on Friday, August 2, 2024. Kofi is the first mug in a new “First Man Modern” series by Tank Standing Buffalo. While continuing the ancient art of idol depiction, Tank brings a modern sensibility and respect to the artists of the past and their people’s deep understanding of the world in which they lived, mastering medicine, astrology, science, architecture, and the many other cultural complexities.
