EDIT: We initially announced that the Kon-Tiki Mug had sold out. THOR Ceramics has clarified that more mugs will be sold in the future. We recommend joining THOR’s mailing list if you would like another chance at securing this mug.

A mug we have waited months for has finally pulled into port; The Kon-Tiki Commemorative Mug by THOR. The mug celebrates a famous journey that took place in 1947 across the Pacific Ocean from South America to the Polynesian islands. The ship set sail to disprove skeptics that long distance travel by primitive boat was indeed possible.

The Kon-Tiki Commemorative Mug will hold 22 fl. oz. and stands 10″ (including the mast). It is also 6½” long x 4½” wide. It was designed and sculpted by THOR. The sails and rigging lines are water moisture resistant.

THOR is a man of many talents. In addition to bringing to life some of the world’s best theme park attractions, he also creates elaborate paintings and designs tiki mugs. His art style is rich in narrative and distinctive.

The mug retailed for $200, which did not include shipping. People on THOR’s mailing lists were notified via e-mail about the mug and the mug went on sale via THOR’s official website. We do not know if additional mugs will be released at a later date, but we recommend following THOR just in case.
