Famous San Francisco based watering hole Smuggler’s Cove is set to reopen on June 15 after a prolonged closure brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Upon reopening, Smuggler’s Cove will have a brand new drink special, Pratique Punch. It will also offer a new rum flight to raise funds for the family of Alex Fritch.

Alex Fritch was an optimistic and passionate man who loved Tiki crawls. He recently passed away unexpectedly, and a GoFundMe has been started to raise funds for Terra Fritch and family. Donations can be made in his memory here.

Smuggler’s Cove in San Francisco is the brain child of Martin and Rebecca Cate, authors of Smuggler’s Cove: Exotic Cocktails, Rum, and the Cult of Tiki. It features the largest selection of rum in the United States. It’s club, The Rumbustion Society, encourages patrons to explore the fascinating world and flavors of rum.

Upon reopening, masks will be required for unvaccinated patrons. No reservations are required and tables will be made available on a first come first serve basis. Occupancy levels within the multi-level bar will be strictly enforced. To go cocktails have been suspended while the bar focuses on reopening. Initially the bar will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays, but hours and policies are subject to change.
