Special Notes: Skipper Kent’s was a San Francisco tiki bar opened by Frank “Skipper” Kent at 1040 Columbus Avenue, shortly after Kent opened the original Zombie Village in Oakland in 1944. Kent had previously spent ten years sailing around the world with his wife in a yacht he built himself, collecting the artifacts with which he decorated both bars. This mug was produced in both dark gray and brown overpaint versions, and later editions had a flat bottom, rather than concave. Otagiri later produced these designs & variations for other bars.
