Description
This ceramic tiki tumbler depicts a brown column supported by four, white, standing tikis that are evenly spaced apart. Polynesian carvings accent the column and “Oceanic Arts” is written prominently around the front of mug.

Unique Markings: A white tiki (taken from a pendant collected by Bob & Leroy in 1960) repeated four times against a brown carved column. “Oceanic Arts” & “Whittier, CA” is in raised gold letters across 3/4 of the surface; the back is inscribed, “Bob & Leroy”. The bottom of the mug reads, “50th Anniversary; 1956 – 2006” & has the Oceanic Arts logo. The mug is signed by Tiki Diablo & by Bob Van Oosting.

Special Notes: This mug commemorated 50 years of the tiki supply warehouse Oceanic Arts of Whittier, CA & its founders, Bob Van Oosting & LeRoy Schmaltz . It included a booklet written by Bob & LeRoy recounting many of their adventures in starting & supplying the premier tiki materials store, known world-wide. There was an open edition also made in plain green gloss & released at the same time.
