Special Notes: Bali Hai at the Beach was a destination restaurant next to an amusement park on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain from 1958 – 1983. Originally called “The Pontchartrain Beach-Comber”, the name was quickly changed when challenged by Donn Beach. Tiki Bob mugs from the original Tiki Bob in San Francisco were duplicated and personalized for several independent restaurants at the time, most notably Bali Hai at the Beach & Hawaiian Village in Florida.
