The tenth edition of House of Tabu’s Exotica Moderne is about to start shipping and can be purchased now. Issue 10 features a new logo, but the same great content as previous editions.
Exotica Moderne is described as “a quarterly publication showcasing the latest in Tiki and lowbrow art, artists, exotic cocktails, kustom kulture, music and more.” It features interviews and artwork from some of the most significant artists working in the Tiki community today.
The latest edition features cover art by Kat Reeder, and Kat’s husband Adam provides history on Sumac. Kevin Crossman provides an in-depth look at a classic cocktail, Ray Wyland examines the Tiki and punk rock connection, and Tom “Tiki Tom” Duncan offers a trip in his Tiki Time Machine to 1958. There is also a feature on Pete Klockau, whose home Tiki bar is known as The Black Lagoon Room.
