Godzilla 74 Tiki Mug By Mondo Emerges And Is Available For Preorder Now
In tribute to seven decades of reptilian wrath, Mondo is releasing a new Tiki mug inspired by the gargantuan Godzilla. The new mug depicts Godzilla rising from the ocean with furrowed brows and a mouthful of sharp teeth.
Godzilla 74 Tiki Mug was designed by a collaboration of artists including Hector Arce, Mike Bonanno, and Tufan Sezer. The mug stands just over 8″ tall and has a capacity of 23 fl. oz. Godzilla clocks in at 1 lb. 12 oz., which is probably the least he has weighed in 70 years.
The Tiki mug features a mostly grey glaze with white features and blue and white waves. The waves look similar to The Great Wave off Kanagawa, which was a woodblock print by Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai.
Mondo is an American design company that is famous for its limited edition Tiki mugs, collectibles and screen printed posters. It was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas. Many of the Tiki mugs Mondo has produced over the years feature prominent characters from some of the world’s biggest films and television series and they are working on an ongoing designer artist series of mugs.
Each Godzilla 74 Tiki mug retails for $65. They are available for preorder now via Mondo’s official website, but they are not expected to ship until April of 2021.
