The original Tambu Tiki mug by Tiki Diablo debuted at Tiki Oasis back in 2005 and featured hand-painted details. It was based on an Abelam figure from Papua New Guinea that was used at a few Tiki bars, such as Trader Vic’s. A new version will debut later this year in a unique patina glaze.

The original Tambu Tiki mug has sold for over $450 in recent auctions. More details about that mug can be viewed here.

Tiki Diablo is widely considered one of the best and most diversified creator of Tiki mugs. He designs, sculpts, glazes, manufactures and sells his own mugs. In addition to creating ceramics, Tiki Diablo also specializes in full venue design and decor. Each mug designed by Tiki Diablo tells a unique story, set to captivate the drinker or collector.

Tambu will go on sale later this year, but preorders and mug reservations are not being offered. Future updates will likely be share via Tiki Diablo’s official Instagram page.
