There’s a new, highly coveted mug with The Reef’s logo on it. The Protector of Paradise was produced by John Mulder of Eekum Bookum and it is inspired by a character that appears in the screen version of the musical South Pacific.

The Protector of Paradise mug depicts a standing figure wearing a Tiki mask and holding a spear. It has a brown, tan, and red glaze, and it was manufactured in the United States.

Eekum Bookum is a mug manufacturer headed by John Mulder out of a studio in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Its mugs are hand produced. Eekum Bookum is famous for producing highly detailed and creative mugs for some of the world’s largest Tiki events such as The Hukilau, Tiki Caliente and Tiki Oasis. It also manufactures Tiki mugs for bars and it produces its own line of Tiki mugs under the label Mulder142.

Each Protector of Paradise cocktail mug retails for $150, but an additional $25 must be spent on either food or beverages at the Reef in order to obtain a mug. Sales of the mug are strictly limited to one per person. While The Reef does not ship mugs (thus no online sales will be offered), some Protector of Paradise mugs are being sold through Eekum Bookum directly on eBay to deter mug flipping. If you do choose to purchase a mug through auction, please support the artists who made the mug and not the flippers.
