The Search For Tiki Shares First Look At Bad Kitty Tiki Mug’s Glaze; Gives Shipping Update

The first photos of the sold out Bad Kitty Tiki mug have emerged alongside an official update from The Search for Tiki. The official update from The Search for Tiki can be read below, which includes an adjusted time frame on shipping:
“We have made significant progress on the Bad Kitty Tiki mug, but unfortunately the mug is not ready to ship. As avid collectors of Tiki mugs, we know how disappointing it can feel when a mug is delayed and we are sorry for this delay. Bad Kitty is our first large scale production Tiki mug. It has taught us a lot about the mug making progress and we are excited about the progress we have made.
Bad Kitty has a glaze! We are proceeding with a mostly matte glaze that features brown, orange, and green colors. A black wash is applied over the Tiki to give it texture and the appearance of age. Munktiki has helped procure the ideal glazes to help bring our vision to life. After consultation with our mug’s designer, Doug Horne, we made an adjustment to Bad Kitty’s eyes to give the cat a more natural and relaxed expression that accentuates Lost Idol’s sculpt. We hope you like it as much as we do!
At just under 8” tall, Bad Kitty is the perfect size. The back of the cat makes a perfect handle to hold the mug and the weight of the mug gives it durability. It can hold 18 fluid ounces of cocktail. The expected shipping date for Bad Kitty has been delayed from the end of June until October, 2021.
As a reminder, we are extending a 10% discount on everything in our shop to anyone who preordered a Bad Kitty Tiki mug. The discount is valid through December 31, 2021.
