The Sinking of the HMS Vernon is Smuggler’s Cove latest Tiki Mug set, a partnership with Shima Ceramics. It is the sixth “COVID release” mug by Smuggler’s Cove. The set was handmade in Port Costa, California and quadruple fired in a kiln.
The Sinking of the HMS Vernon is a Limited Edition set of 50 and each set has three pieces. The Bow depicts the head and tentacles of a massive sea monster dragging the ship down. An unlucky sailor is caught in one of the beast’s many tentacles and the sea monster features an “extra slimy” spotted glaze. The stern is also wrapped in tentacles and includes a flickering LED flame candle. The final and third piece is a Smuggler’s Cove exclusive tentacle wrapped around a pile of rum barrels.
Smuggler’s Cove is limiting the sale of these sets to one per person. Each set costs $350 and will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail to U.S. addresses only. Numbers will be assigned in order of purchase.
Those looking to order The Sinking of the HMS Vernon will be able to do so via Smuggler’s Cove’s official website on Thursday, November 19th at 10:00AM PDT. Alternatively you can bid on mug #1 via eBay right now. At the time of this writing, the auction has a highest bid of $430.00.
