The time has come for an exciting new horror themed Kickstarter from Horror in Clay! Jonathan Chaffin’s newest project is a 9″ tall ceramic cocktail mug inspired by shipwrecks and a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. In true Horror in Clay fashion, the mug also features some nods to H.P. Lovecraft.

The Wreck of the Hesperus cocktail mug is available in multiple glazes and there are discounts for early bird backers on Kickstarter. The first glaze is a monochrome mug that comes with certain pledges starting at $55. The highest pledge amount is $300, which comes with a limited edition mug hand glazed in the United States. The highest level pledge tier is limited to only 20 backers.

Horror In Clay creates horror-themed Tiki mugs, barware, art, and accessories inspired by horror literature and pop culture. Their official Instagram can be viewed here.

The Kickstarter project will only be funded if it reaches its goal of $25,555. The mug has already been designed, modeled, sculpted, and test glazed. Jonathan is working with Jason Yungbluth and Munktiki Imports to bring the mug to life. Mugs will ship by June of 2022, but mugs may ship sooner before the end of 2021. The Kickstarter campaign can be backed here.
