Struggling to come up with the perfect Christmas gift? While the holiday is just two weeks away, there is still time to secure a present for the Tiki lover in your life, and help support small business in the process. We’ve compiled a list of our ten favorite holiday-inspired items for 2020 (and no, we aren’t receiving a commission on these items).

Set sail for Christmas island with some festive Hawaiian inspired instrumentals from a wide-range of genres. This vinyl record includes 12 holiday classics on a limited-edition “ruby red” vinyl. It also comes with a hi-fi digital download and a handwritten gift message is also available as an add-on. The message is handwritten by Magdalena, co-owner of Hi-Tide Recordings.

Sippin’ Santa is a traveling pop-up that combines tiki and Christmas each year from November 25th through the month of December. It is the creative brain child of Jeff “Beachbum” Berry, who has been described as one of the “25 most influential Cocktail Personalities of the past century.” One bar participating in the pop-up event this year is Strong Water, a a tavern located in Anaheim, California. You can purchase mugs and glassware from the event via Strong Water’s online grocery and goods store. You can also find a pop-up location near you here.

Art prints by Jeff Granito are available matted and unmatted and this festive “Wishing You A Moai Christmas” print can be purchased as a 16″ x 20″ ($30) or a 18″ x 24″ ($60) print. Jeff has created dozens of prints over the years and has worked directly with Disney for some of his creations. His online shop has plenty of Tiki-inspired prints, Mai Tai glasses, swizzles, and holiday ornaments.

Martin and Rebecca Cate’s James Beard Award-winning book is our personal favorite cocktail book for beginners and professionals. Not only does it break down some of Tiki’s most significant recipes, it also delves into the vivid and colorful history of rum. We strongly recommend purchasing this book from the official Smuggler’s Cove website, because their version can be personalized and signed by the authors.

Odd Rodney is known for producing some of the most precise and well-finished tiki mugs, but he also creates Easter Island pendants. They are available in three colors beige, gray, and brown and retail for $35. Materials include urethane resin, paint, waxed cord, and wooden beads. The total length of each necklace is about 24″ long.

While not exactly tiki, this Krampus is made of stoneware ceramic and is 100% badass. It is produced by the folks at Menehune Design Group out of Oakland, California. Krampus is a Limited Edition of 50 comes in a numbered and commemorative box. They stand about 6″ tall.

These Chinese Lantern Picks are selling out fast and may not be available for long. They have been out of production for nearly 40 years, but the Kon-Tigo Tiki Bar authentically recreated them. They come in six colors and are sold in assorted packs. The red string on each pick is long so that it can be adjusted to a desired length. Pricing varies depending on the quantity purchased.

While not inherently holiday related, the distressed prints sold by Skipper Hoss take us back to the golden age of Hollywood. His prints depict legendary films such as King Kong, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and Casablanca. We personally feel the Rick’s Cafe print would feel right at home next to a classically-dressed Christmas tree.

Exotica Moderne is a quarterly publication showcasing the latest in tiki and lowbrow art. The ninth edition showcases music and Tiki Lindy gets you ready for the upcoming holidays, with fall-centric food and drink recipes. It even includes a fictional short in a holiday-noir vein, by Clentin Martin.

This creative trio of Tiki mugs available through BG Reynolds comes in both bold and classic colors. “Stressed”, “Sipping”, and “Satisfied” depicts the emotions one feels before and after enjoying their rum cocktail. The bold color set includes red and green mugs, which certainly feels like Christmas to us. They are fairly cheap compared to other Tiki mugs also and on sale for $35 each.
