A couple years have passed since the Mulders relocated to Florida, and they are officially releasing a tiki mug inspired by Florida history. The Tiki Gardens mug by Eekum Bookum is double-sided and features a multi-colored glaze.

Mulder described the inspiration behind the mug saying “Tiki Gardens was a Polynesian gardens and restaurant in Indian Shores Florida, just a few miles from our house. It opened in 1964 it was closed in the 80s at which time it fell into disrepair ultimately being sold to pinellas county. And of course they tore down paradise and put up a parking lot for the beach. The front of the mug features a 10 foot Tiki named Kahona, the water God, which stood at the entrance. It featured a fire pit in the mouth and torches they would light every night. The back features another of their monumental Tiki’s which they called Lono supreme God.”

The mug is being released along with new Tiki Garden prints designed by Doug Horne. The mug will be approximately 7″ tall and will hold about 18 fl. oz. of your favorite beverage. “Tiki Gardens” and “Indian Shores” are written vertically on the sides of this mug.

Tiki Gardens mug will be released tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5, at 6:00 PM PST via the official Eekum Bookum website. A listing has already been created on the site with a listing price of $125.

Will you be adding one of these double sided mugs to your collection? How about the prints by Doug Horne?
